E-Commerce Site

Small boutique clothing stores are perfect for online sales. We created this e-commerce storefront for the client to enhance their image as well as offer them the opportunity to offer their products online.

Having a niche market of exclusive, modern, yet mid-priced clothing for women between the ages of 30-60, Virelia was interested in taking their business online. After analyzing the project budget and goals, we determined that the turn-key hosted solution “Shopify” was a great fit for the job.

We began sketching out wireframe layouts to make sure we were able to include all of the elements the client required and still retain an easy to follow information architecture. We then began creating layout compositions which followed the clients “boutique” style branding. The color pallet was taken directly from their current print materials and reference photographs we took in their store. Texture was added in the form of a subtle wallpaper pattern in the background to reenforce “french boutique” image of the establishment.

After the design compositions were approved, we moved on to creating the actual template files that the Ruby-on-Rails based Shopify system requires, using semantic HTML, CSS and the jQuery Javascript library. On completion we instructed the client on how to manage the store using the Shopify control panel, and they hit the ground running.
